Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

Innovator Lens (the "Service") is a product of Tinker Playground LLC ("Tinker Playground," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Innovator Lens is a research and market-intelligence platform that aggregates publicly available U.S. federal data — including SBIR/STTR grant awards (SBIR.gov), federal spending records (USAspending), securities filings (SEC EDGAR), and patents (USPTO) — into research-ready company profiles. The Service provides:

• A searchable database of federally funded companies and their grants, patents, and filings
• Company profiles, trend analysis, and market signals
• Saved searches, alerts, and research-data export (by plan)
• Email digests summarizing new activity

The Service surfaces the names and roles of people associated with public records — such as grant principal investigators, patent inventors, and publication authors — drawn from those public sources. We do not provide personal contact details (such as email addresses or phone numbers), sell or make available contact or marketing lists, or facilitate outbound marketing. We reserve the right to update or modify the Service at any time.

3. Accounts and Access

Innovator Lens is free to start. You can create an account by signing in with Google, which gives you access to a preview of the Service at no cost. Paid plans unlock additional features. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and current information
• Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts suspected of violating these Terms.

4. Subscriptions, Billing, and Payments

Innovator Lens offers a free tier and paid subscription plans (currently Scout and Professional), billed monthly or annually, as well as custom Enterprise plans. Pricing is shown on our pricing page and may change from time to time; changes will not affect the price of a subscription term you have already paid for.

Merchant of Record. Our order process and payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Limited and its affiliates (collectively, "Paddle"), which act as the authorized reseller and Merchant of Record for purchases of the Service. When you buy a paid plan, your contract for that purchase is with Tinker Playground LLC as the supplier of the software, with Paddle handling the transaction, billing, and payment processing. Charges may appear on your statement as "Tinker Playground" or a similar descriptor. Paddle's buyer terms and privacy notice also apply to your purchase.

Auto-renewal. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) at the then-current rate for your plan, using your saved payment method, until you cancel. Applicable taxes (such as VAT or sales tax) are calculated and collected by Paddle based on your billing location.

Managing your subscription. You can update your payment method, change plans, or cancel at any time from your account (which opens Paddle's secure customer portal).

5. Cancellations and Refunds

You may cancel a paid subscription at any time. When you cancel, your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period, and it will not renew after that; we do not provide prorated refunds for the unused portion of a billing period except where required by law.

Because Paddle is the Merchant of Record, refunds are processed through Paddle in accordance with its buyer terms. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact us at hello@innovatorlens.com or use the help link on your Paddle receipt, and we will review your request in good faith.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and not to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation, including anti-spam, privacy, and data-protection laws
• Use names, roles, or other information surfaced through the Service to send spam or unsolicited marketing, or to harass, defraud, or harm any individual
• Scrape, resell, redistribute, or create a competing dataset from the Service's content except as expressly permitted by your plan
• Infringe on intellectual property rights or impersonate any person or entity
• Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service

Data surfaced through the Service originates from public records and is provided for research, analysis, and market-intelligence purposes. You are responsible for using it in compliance with applicable law.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

All content, trademarks, features, and functionality on the Service—including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, compiled data, and software—are the property of Tinker Playground LLC and its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Underlying public records remain in the public domain; our selection, arrangement, enrichment, and presentation of that data are protected. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our content or compilation without prior written consent, except as permitted by your plan.

8. Data Sources and Accuracy

The Service aggregates and presents publicly available information from government and other public sources. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that the data is complete, current, or error-free, and it should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any investment, financial, or business decision.

9. Privacy Policy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information, and how Paddle handles your payment data. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described therein.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in the Service constitutes investment, legal, tax, or financial advice.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tinker Playground LLC and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of the Service.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Santa Clara County, California.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to the new Terms taking effect. Continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
